How Can We Help You?
The Clerk’s Office serves the residents of Anne Arundel County in many important ways. Each year the Clerk’s Office processes approximately:
- 100,000 land records
- 75,000 legal documents;
- 8,000 business licenses; and
- 5,000 marriage licenses.
To execute the tasks described above, the Clerk’s Office relies on approximately 125 staff working in the following key functional areas:
- Criminal Department
- Juvenile Department
- Adoptions & Guardianships
- Land Records Department
- Licensing Department
- Civil Department/Family Department
- Courtroom/Support Division
In addition, the Clerk of the Circuit Court administers the Oath of Office to elected officials, judges, county police officers, sheriff officers, assistant and deputy state's attorneys, fire department members, and gubernatorial appointees.

There is mandatory e-filing for attorneys filing in Anne Arundel County. This includes the District and Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County as well as any appellate proceedings arising from an Anne Arundel County case on or after October 14, 2014.
Attorneys must file electronically, or their filings will be returned.
