The Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County seeks a deputy supervisor for the Office of the Court Reporter.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: The Office of the Court Reporter is responsible for overseeing the digital recording and “tagging” of court proceedings in the CourtSmart digital recording system; managing transcript requests and liaising between attorneys, members of the public, and Court approved transcription vendors; preparing CDs and other audio files in response to requests from the courthouse, attorneys, and members of the public; processing expungement of the audio record when Court ordered; and other duties as assigned. The position reports to the supervisor of the Office of the Court Reporter and includes assisting in the management of five staff members.

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Management skills; strong computer skills; ability to exercise a high degree of judgment and competence in dealing with judges, attorneys, court personnel, and the public. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments. Applicant should have a strong working knowledge of Maryland Circuit Court proceedings and legal terminology. Knowledge of the laws and Maryland Rules related to the audio record and duties of the office is preferred.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong customer service skills, are required.

SALARY/BENEFITS: This is a full-time, grade 15 position with county benefits.
